What Happens in a Draw in Poker?

In poker, when two or more players have the same number of cards, they are said to be “in a draw”. The player who “drAWS” (or is “drawn”) first is the winner of the hand.

There are a few things that can happen in a draw. The most common is that both players draw cards to the same value, which results in a tie. If both players have the same number of cards of the same rank, then the player with the higher card wins. If one player has an Ace and the other has a two, for example, the Ace would win.

If both players have two of the same rank (e.g., both have two two’s), then a tie results.

Another possibility in a draw is that one player has more high cards than the other, and those high cards give that player an advantage. For example, if one player has an Ace and three Kings, that player would likely win over someone who only had two Kings.
