What Happens When the Dealer and Player Bust in Blackjack?

An elaborated article about blackjack can be found here. When a player and dealer bust, the following happens:

-The player is given a blackjack (plus any appropriate hand payouts).
-The dealer is given a blackjack (plus any appropriate hand payouts).
-Any prior bets are refunded to the player.
-Any credits remaining on the player’s credit meter are forfeited.

-The game is over.
In general, it is in the player’s best interest to bust as soon as possible – doing so allows for the most favorable hand payouts and reduces the chances of losing money overall. However, busting can also result in negative consequences, such as being penalized with a loss of credits or even being expelled from the casino. The decision of when and how to bust in blackjack is ultimately up to the individual player.
