What if Dealer Has Blackjack and Player Has 21?

If the dealer has blackjack and the player has 21, the player can either stand and take their chances, or try to get a better hand by splitting. If the player decides to split, they would need to choose between a 10 and an Ace. If the player chooses the 10, they would receive two additional cards, which would give them a total of two 10s.

This would give them a total hand of (two 10s, an Ace), which is better than their original 21. If the player decides to keep their original 21, they would still be in good shape as long as they don’t get another blackjack.
