What Is Blackjack Card Game?

Blackjack is a card game that has been around since the early 1800s. It is a very simple game to learn, and is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The object of the game is to make as many points as possible by taking cards that add up to 21, and then playing any other card. The player who accumulates the most points at the end of the round wins the game. There are a few variations of blackjack that are played, but the most common version is called standard blackjack. In standard blackjack, the player starts by splitting their hand into two cards, face down. They then select one of these cards to be their “point” card. The point card is used to determine how much money the player will bet, and it also determines which hand the player will play from. After making their point card selection, the player lays down another card from their hand, face up.

This new card becomes their “hand” card. The dealer then drAWS two cards from the deck, and places them face down in front of them. This is now the dealer’s “hole” card and initial bet. Next, the player either drAWS another card or bets whatever amount was on their point card. If they have a higher total than the dealer (21 or more), they can either keep playing or hit (put all of their remaining cards into the discard pile). If they have a lower total than the dealer (less than 21), they lose and must buy back in at double (or more) their original bet amount. If they do not want to buy back in, they can hit again or stand (keep all of their original cards). In some variations of blackjack, such as Spanish blackjack, players may also be able to double down on any given hand after hitting once.
