What Is Martingale in Roulette?

Martingale betting is a strategy in roulette that involves betting more money on the next bet, hoping to recoup losses from earlier bets. The goal is to make enough progress on the roulette table so that if you lose one bet, you’re still ahead on the table.

There are two variations of martingale betting: the European martingale and the American martingale. The European martingale involves betting 1/2 of your original bet plus the amount of your previous bet, up to a maximum of your original stake.

The American martingale involves betting 1/2 of your original bet plus the amount of your previous two bets, up to a maximum of your original stake.

Both variants are designed to help you recoup losses from earlier bets while keeping your total stake as low as possible. The downside is that if you lose one or more bets, you can go broke very quickly.
