What Is Surrendering in Blackjack?

There is a lot of debate surrounding what surrendering in blackjack actually means. In its simplest form, surrendering is giving up any hope of winning the hand. Most casinos allow players to surrender any time before they lose all of their chips, so long as they have at least one chip left. Some players believe that it’s important to keep some hope of winning until the very last possible moment in order to increase their odds of winning.

Other players believe that surrendering is always the best option, because it gives them the chance to receive a free card and potentially increase their odds of winning. Ultimately, the decision whether or not to surrender is up to the individual player.
