What Is the Best Type of Blackjack to Play?

There is no one “right” way to play blackjack, as the game can be enjoyed in many different ways. However, some popular blackjack variants include standard blackjack, seven-card stud, and Spanish 21.

Standard Blackjack

In standard blackjack, the player bets either $2 or $5 per hand and tries to achieve the highest score possible by playing cards that total 21. The player with the highest score at the end of the hand wins the pot.

Seven-Card Stud

In seven-card stud, the player bets $3 per hand and must choose one of two possible hands: a three-of-a-kind (3 of a kind) or a straight (no pair). If the player gets a three-of-a-kind or better in either hand, they win the pot.

If not, they lose their wager.

Spanish 21

Spanish 21 is a variant of standard blackjack that features a single joker card that can be used as any card. This makes it more difficult to achieve a high score, as it’s harder to get a combination of cards that totals 21.

However, players who are good at reading other players’ hands may find Spanish 21 more fun than standard blackjack.
