Blackjack is a popular casino game that can be played with either one or two decks of cards. In basic blackjack, the player bets on whether the dealer’s hand will be higher ( Ace high or Ten high ) or lower ( Two through Nine low ).
If the player bets on the high hand, the casino pays out if the dealer’s hand is Ace high, Two through Five low, or Six through Ten high. If the player bets on the low hand, the casino pays out if the dealer’s hand is Two through Nine low.
There are a number of variations of blackjack, including Spanish blackjack and double down blackjack. In Spanish blackjack, players can double their original bet after each card is dealt, up to a maximum of four times.
In double down blackjack, players must place a bet before each card is dealt and then can double their bet after each card is dealt, up to a total of eight times.
Some casinos offer higher limits on blackjack tables than others. The highest limit currently available for blackjack in Las Vegas is $10,000 per hand.
