What Is the Name for a Poker Stake?

In poker, a stake is a bet made by a player. There are four main stakes in poker: pot, antes, postflop and turn.

Pot stakes are the most common and the simplest to understand. They are simply a bet that you will win the hand.

Antes are a pre-flop bet that is added to the pot. The ante is always equal to the small blind (the Lowest amount put into the pot before any cards are dealt).

Postflop stakes involve betting after the flop (but before any cards have been revealed). Postflop bets can be made with two hands, or all three hands.

Turn stakes involve betting on which way the turn will go (either up or down).
