What Is the Payout for 0 on Roulette?

0 is a number that frequently comes up on roulette tables, but what is the payout for 0? In general, on a European roulette table, if the number landing on any of the 18 betting slots is 0, the player will win regardless of any other factors. In North American roulette, however, there are variations in payout depending on where you are playing.

In Nevada, for example, players who place bets on slots numbered 0 through 18 and the number comes up will win regardless of the position of any other numbers. This means that even if black hits number 0 on its own and all other numbers are green or even, a player would still win if they placed a bet on slot 0.

On American roulette tables however, if the number landing on any of the 18 betting slots is 0 and another number (other than zero) is also landed in that particular slot, then the player would only win if that other number was also located in one of the other 17 slots. So for example, if black hits number 0 and red lands at 3 in slot 3, the player would only win if red also landed in slot 2 or 1.

So while it is possible for a player to win on American roulette by hitting 0 and another number (other than zero), it is not as likely as it is on European roulette tables.
