The value of cards in blackjack depends on a variety of factors, including the number and rank of the cards in a player’s hand, the dealer’s hand, and the game situation. In most cases, aces are worth 1 point, 2s through 9s are worth face value (e.g. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), and 10s are worth 10 points.
In some variants of blackjack (such as Spanish blackjack), a player may be allowed to split pairs (two cards of the same rank) or three of a kind (three cards of the same rank). In other variants (such as French blackjack), any two cards of the same rank (two 2s, for example) are worth face value.
