What Is Touchdown Blackjack?

Touchdown blackjack is a variation of blackjack that uses a standard 52 card deck, but with a rule that when two cards of the same rank are dealt together, the hand is automatically scored as a “touchdown”, entitling the player to receive an additional pay of 10 to 25 percent (depending on the casino).

One of the main attractions of touchdown blackjack is that it tends to be much more lucrative than traditional blackjack. For example, a player who receives two cards of the same rank (e.g.

2s and 3s) in a standard 52 card deck would typically lose 5 points, but in touchdown blackjack, this would be treated as a “touchdown” and would therefore result in a payout of 10 to 25 percent (again, depending on the casino). Consequently, if you’re able to achieve a high degree of consistency with touchdown blackjack play, you can potentially earn significant profits over time.

However, while touchdown blackjack can be quite lucrative if you’re able to make consistent plays, it’s also important to remember that it’s one of the riskier variants of blackjack, so if you’re not comfortable with taking risks then it might not be the best option for you.
