What Makes a Soft 17 in Blackjack?

In blackjack, a soft 17 is a hand that falls within the range of a 10 and an Ace. In other words, it has two cards that total 17, and is therefore considered a good hand.

A soft 17 is generally not as good as a hard 17, which has three cards that total 17. However, because soft 17s are less common than hard 17s, they are more likely to be dealt.

The main reason why soft 17s are considered good hands is because they have high-value cards. The 10 and the Ace are both worth two points each, which makes them very valuable when combined with another card.

If you are dealt a soft 17 and you have two high-value cards, you are likely to make a lot of money.
