When Should You Float in Poker?

Floating is a viable strategy in poker, but it should only be used as a last resort. Floaters often get trapped in bad habits and don’t realize how much money they’re losing until it’s too late.

If you’re not winning with your normal poker strategy, floating may be your best chance of turning things around. However, make sure you have a solid plan for floating and don’t overdo it.

You don’t want to end up with too many hands where you’re simply hoping for the best.

Floating can also backfire if the other players know you’re floating and start calling more aggressive bets. This can put you in a bad spot and lead to a loss.

So use floating judiciously and always keep an eye on the game situation.
