When Should You Stand Blackjack?

The best time to stand blackjack is when the dealer has a strong hand. In general, the dealer has a strong hand when the card values are evenly matched and at least one of the cards is an ace.

When the dealer has a strong hand, it’s usually in your best interests to stand. If you stay in the game and the dealer loses, you’ll only lose money if you get unlucky and the dealer drAWS an ace or a ten.

If you’re not sure whether or not to stand, it’s generally safest to stay in the game and gamble on whether or not the dealer will hit a seven or an eight. If the dealer hits a seven, you may want to stand because even if you lose money on the bet, you’ll at least have avoided losing any more chips.

If the dealer hits an eight, you may want to stay in because even if you lose money on the bet, you’ll have avoided losing any more chips than necessary.
