Where Are Blackjack Oaks Found?

Blackjack Oaks is located approximately 25 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee, in the hills of Williamson County. The Oaks are a remnant of the Cumberland Plateau and are surrounded by farms and forests.

The Oaks were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966.

The Blackjack Oaks National Historic Landmark includes a plantation house dating from 1827, a smokehouse, several outbuildings, and a cemetery. The plantation was operated by the descendants of James Robertson, who is credited with introducing blackjack to America.

Blackjack oak trees are found only on the Robertson plantation. The National Historic Landmark is open to the public from April through October.
