World Poker Tour is a televised poker tournament series that is produced and broadcast by ESPN. The tour began in 2006 and has since been aired in over 50 countries. There are currently five seasons of World Poker Tour airing. The first season aired in 2006, the second season aired in 2007, the third season aired in 2008, the fourth season aired in 2009, and the fifth and current season aired in 2010.
Each season has a number of tournaments that are played, with the winner of each tournament receiving a cash prize. Additionally, many of the tournaments have buy-in levels that range from $10 to $10,000. In addition, many of the tournaments offer other benefits such as free entry into future tournaments or special privileges such as seating at the table next to the professional players. Additionally, World Poker Tour offers online qualifiers that allow anyone to enter a tournament and compete for a chance to win a cash prize.
