In November 2018, it was announced that Bovada had signed a multi-year agreement to become the Official Online Bookmaker of Major League Baseball (MLB). Under the terms of the agreement, Bovada will become the exclusive online bookmaker for MLB games in the United States and Canada.

As of September 2018, Bovada had received more than $1 billion in wagers since its inception. The company has been involved in a number of legal disputes in recent years, including a lAWSuit filed by former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick alleging that he lost $10 million due to gambling on NFL games at Bovada Sportsbook between 2016 and 2017.
