Who Won the 2003 World Series of Poker?

The 2003 World Series of Poker (WSOP) was a nine-day event that took place at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event began on July 10, 2003 and ended on July 17.

The main event was a seven-card stud tournament with a $10,000 buy-in. There were also two other events at the WSOP: a six-handed split pot limit hold’em event and a Hyper-Turbo No Limit Hold’em tournament.

The winner of the 2003 WSOP was Chris Moneymaker, who earned $2.5 million.

Moneymaker was one of only eight players to make it all the way to the final table, where he finished in fourth place behind eventual champion Greg Merson, Scotty Nguyen, and Joe Hachem.
