Russian roulette is a game of chance in which a person takes a single shot at a revolver loaded with six rounds. The player guesses which of the six chambers holds the bullet, based on the position of the gun’s barrel when it is fired.
If the player guesses correctly, they win the round; if they guess wrong, they lose.
The name Russian roulette comes from the fact that the gun is usually loaded with bullets from a particular chamber – usually the “gun” chamber. However, there is also a “bullet” chamber, which holds only dummy rounds.
In casino Russian roulette, players can also bet on “heads” or “tails” – that is, whether the next bullet will be in the “gun” chamber or in the “bullet” chamber.
Some people believe that Russian roulette is especially dangerous because it is possible to lose even if you don’t shoot anyone. In fact, according to some sources, as many as one in six people who play Russian roulette will lose money – even if they don’t fire their gun.
Many experts believe that this high risk factor makes Russian roulette one of the most dangerous games in casinos.
