Why Is Blackjack Called Pontoon?

Blackjack is a casino game that is played with a deck of 52 playing cards. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible by collecting cards of the same rank and suit.

Points are awarded for each card that is dealt, and the player with the highest total at the end of the hand wins the hand.

Pontoon was originally a variant of blackjack that was played in Nevada casinos in the early 1960s. Pontoon is similar to blackjack, but the player has two additional cards, which are added to the deck after each round of playing.

The object of pontoon is to achieve a higher total than the dealer. Like blackjack, pontoon can be played for money or for points.
