Will Online Poker Be Legal in CT?

In March of this year, the Connecticut General Assembly passed a bill that would legalize online poker in the state. The bill now needs to be signed by Governor Dannel Malloy in order for it to take effect.

Once it is, Connecticut would become the ninth state to legalize online poker.

There has been some resistance to legalizing online poker in Connecticut, but most of it comes from religious groUPS who feel that it is a form of gambling. They argue that poker is a skill game and not a form of gambling.

However, others feel that online poker can be regulated and should be allowed because it is similar to traditional poker, which is played in brick-and-mortar casinos.

It is still unclear whether or not online poker will actually be legal in Connecticut once the bill is signed by Governor Malloy. However, if it does become legal, CT would join other states such as Nevada, New Jersey, and California in legalizing this type of gaming.
