Are Blackjack Charts Allowed in Casinos?

In the game of blackjack, players are dealt two cards face down and must decide whether to keep the card they are holding or draw another card. If the player decides to draw another card, they then must choose whether to stand (hold the card) or surrender (give up their current hand and receive a new one).

The house advantage in blackjack is approximately 2.5 percent, which means that for every 100 hands played, the house will make between $2.50 and $2.75 in profit.

This advantage is given to the casino by the rule that prohibits players from doubling down (putting two cards of the same rank together). This rule is designed to prevent a player from getting too far ahead of the house and giving them an unfair advantage over other players.

Players are not allowed to use blackjack charts in casinos because these tools give away too much information about a player’s hand. While it is possible for a casino to track a player’s average bet and hand size, it is not possible for them to distinguish between a natural 20 and an Ace of Spades without looking at the player’s cards.

This information would be useful for the casino in order to adjust their odds accordingly, which is why charts are not allowed in casinos.
