Can You Play Poker in Vegas Right Now?

There is no doubt that poker is a popular game in Las Vegas and other casinos around the world. However, it is important to note that the legality of poker in Vegas can change at any time.

Currently, poker is legal in Nevada as long as it is played for cash and not for gambling chips or other prizes. However, the legality of online poker in Nevada has been a topic of much debate. In July of 2015, the Nevada State Gaming Control Board voted 3-2 to legalize online poker with a $10 million dollar prize pool. This decision was appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court, who upheld the control board’s decision in December of 2015.

However, this does not mean that you can start playing online poker immediately. The court has ordered that all licensed casinos must install anti-money laundering and fraud prevention software by January 31st, 2016 in order to participate in the online poker market. .

So while the legality of poker in Las Vegas remains somewhat up in the air, there is no reason why you can’t give it a try if you’re interested. Just be sure to do your research first so that you don’t get caught up in any legal trouble!.
