There are a lot of different ways to play blackjack, but the most popular variation is called “21”. In this game, you are dealt two cards face down, and then you must make a three-card hand with one of the cards you are dealt.
If you have a higher total than the dealer, you win the hand. If the dealer has a higher total, he or she wins.
One thing to keep in mind when playing 21 is that you can never lose more than your initial bet plus the size of your hand. So, if you bet $10 and are holding two 10s and an Ace, you would still win if the dealer had a 21 (even though your actual total would be 21-10=9).
However, if the dealer has a 22 (a total of 12), you would lose your $10 bet PLUS the $2 bet for a total loss of $12.
There are other variations of blackjack that allow for greater betting possibilities, but 21 is by far the most popular and commonly played game. As long as you understand how to play and know your basic rules, there is no limit to how high you can go in blackjack!.
