How Is Blackjack Calculated?

Blackjack is a simple game of chance, in which a player bets on the number that will be shown next on the betting round. The dealer either shows a card, or nothing at all.

If the player’s bet is correct, the dealer pays the player. If the player’s bet is incorrect, the dealer pays him or her back the amount of money wagered.

A basic blackjack game has just these four steps:

1) The dealer deals two cards face down to each player.
2) The player either bets or stands (doesn’t do anything).
3) The dealer turns over one card.

4) If the new card is lower than either of the previously turned over cards (both face down), then the player has won that hand and gets to keep both cards and any money wagered. If not, then play continues as normal, with another hand being dealt after this one.
