In poker, a hand is a set of five cards, with two face down and three face up. Each player bets on the hand, and the player with the best five-card hand (according to their rank) wins the pot.
It takes about two seconds for a dealer to shuffle the deck and deal each player five cards. After that, it takes about one second for a player to look at their hand, decide what to do, and make the appropriate bet.
So, on average, it takes about 2.1 seconds for a hand to be completed from start to finish.
This includes everything from dealing the cards, to looking at the hand, making the bet, and finally getting dealt another card.
