There are 52 cards in a deck of cards in blackjack. A deck of cards is either dealt face down, or it can be counted out. After the cards are dealt, the player to the dealer’s left places two chips on the table, one in front of the other. This is called the “money pile”.
The dealer then turns over the top card of the deck, which is called the “flop”. The player to the dealer’s right (the “ante”), if he wishes, may place a bet (either chips or money) on that particular card. If he does not wish to bet, he may instead place a bet on any one of the five number cards which have not yet been revealed. .
After the flop has been turned over, and any bets have been placed, another face down card is turned over, which is called the “turn”. The player to the dealer’s left may now place another bet (either chips or money), and so on, until all bets and all cards have been played. The player who comes up with the highest card as determined by their hand ranking gets to stand and collect their winnings.
If there is a tie for first place, then each player gets a share of the winnings. There are no ties for second place or third place.
