How Many Optional Side Bets Are in Blackjack?

There are three types of optional side bets in blackjack: wild, doubling down, and splitting.

Wild side bets are the most common type of optional side bet. They allow players to wager on any number between one and the dealer’s total number of cards.

For example, a player might place a $5 wild bet on the Ace of Spades (the highest card). If the Ace of Spades is dealt, the player would win $10 ($5 + $5).

Doubling down is another common type of optional side bet. It allows players to increase their wager by betting twice the original amount on any number.

For example, a player might place a $10 double down bet on the Ace of Spades (the highest card). If the Ace of Spades is dealt, the player would win $20 ($10 + $10).

Splitting is another common type of optional side bet. It allows players to split any sum between two different numbers.

For example, a player might place a $5 split bet on the 2 and 10 (two different numbers). If either number is dealt, the player would win their respective bet.
