Breath of the Wild is an action-adventure game in which the player controls Link as he traverses Hyrule, a fictional realm that exists in a world of perpetual twilight. The game features open-world gameplay in which players can freely move about the environment and engage in side quests or main missions, or explore at their leisure.
Link can equip weapons and armor to improve his defenses and abilities, and can also use items to perform special maneuvers or attacks.
The game includes a single-player mode in which the player controls Link as he explores Hyrule, and a two-player mode in which players can cooperatively fight enemies or explore the environment. In addition, the game includes a multiplayer mode in which players can battle each other using characters from across the series.
The game supports both local and online multiplayer gameplay.
The game contains a total of 118 weapon slots, of which 104 are available from the start. Additional weapon slots are unlocked as the player completes specific objectives or milestones, such as reaching certain levels or defeating certain enemies.
