Is Poker Illegal in Indonesia?

Poker has been illegal in Indonesia since 2009. This prohibition is due to the fact that poker is considered a form of gambling, and because it is widely believed that poker can be used to finance illegal activities such as drug trafficking and terrorism. Despite this prohibition, poker is still played in select locations throughout Indonesia, most notably in Jakarta and Bali.

In recent years, there has been discussion of legalizing poker in Indonesia in order to bring the game into compliance with local lAWS and regulations. However, as of now, poker remains illegal in Indonesia.
