In blackjack, the payout odds are the percentage of hands in which the player receives money from the house. The payout odds for a particular hand are determined by the combination of cards that have been played. In general, the payout odds for a particular hand are as follows:
For a two-card hand, the payout odds are 1 in 4.
For a three-card hand, the payout odds are 1 in 3.
For a four-card hand, the payout odds are 1 in 2.5.
For a five-card hand, the payout odds are 1 in 2.
For an ace-high or ace-low hand (a hand with an Ace or Ace of Spades), the payout odds are 1 in 2.
The house always wins (or “bets” to win) on every hand and therefore always receives money from players, regardless of their actual hands. Therefore, players should never expect to win money by playing blackjack!.
