What Is the Payout in Blackjack?

Blackjack is a popular casino game that rewards players for taking risks. The basic game involves two cards, face down, that are turned over simultaneously.

The player with the highest card wins the hand, and any bet placed on that hand is paid out. In some variations of blackjack, the player also collects money from the dealer if the dealer’s hand is better than their own.

The payout in blackjack can vary greatly depending on the rules of the particular game being played. If a player bets $10 and is dealt a two-card hand that has an Ace and a two, for example, they would expect to receive $16 in total (the Ace plus the two).

If they were to instead bet $5 on an eight-card hand with an Ace and a two, they would only receive $10 ($16 minus their original $5 bet). This is because blackjack pays off hands based on rank rather than value.
