When a player has two cards of the same rank, such as a two of spades and a two of hearts, they are said to have “jacked” or “jacked-in.” This means that the player has increased their chances of winning by forcing the dealer to hit on his or her next hand.
In some casinos, players who jack-in are given an automatic opportunity to double their bet, and in others they must ask for permission. Regardless of the casino’s policy, jacking-in is an important part of blackjack strategy.
If you’re playing against someone who has jacked-in, your best strategy is to draw cards until you have at least one card that is not a jack or ten. Once you have that card, you can start doubling your bets and hoping to win more money than your opponent.
