What Does H17 Mean in Blackjack?

The term “H17” is used in blackjack to indicate a particular type of hand that is statistically more likely to result in a loss for the player. This hand is made up of a four-of-a-kind, five-of-a-kind, or a combination of any two of these cards. When this hand is dealt, the dealer must either offer the player one or more additional cards (known as “push”), or stand and allow the player to draw additional cards. If the player chooses to draw additional cards, then the dealer must offer one or more additional cards (known as “stand”).

If the player pushes and the dealer offers one or more additional cards, then the player can either take those cards or push again. If the player pushes and the dealer does not offer any additional cards, then the hand is a bust and the player loses.
