What does “let it ride” mean in blackjack?

In blackjack, “let it ride” means that you don’t want to hit or stand (or even double down) on any particular card. Instead, you’d like the casino to automatically deal you another card, so that you can continue playing without having to make any more decisions.

The rationale for letting the casino handle the next card is that it’s more likely than not that you’ll end up with a better hand than if you made a decision yourself. After all, if the next card is a 10 or an Ace, for example, it’s likely that you’ll be able to take advantage of those numbers by playing another hand.

If you hit on the first card and the next is a 2 or 3, for example, then your chances of winning are slightly lessened.

If you let the casino deal your next card, then there’s also a small chance that the casino will give you another good card (a 2 or 3). In other words, there’s a chance that the casino is trying to help you out by giving you a good hand.

This is why some players call this strategy “playing against the dealer.”.

Some people believe that letting it ride is never a good idea in blackjack because there’s always a chance that the casino will give you a bad hand. Others believe that letting it ride is always a good idea because there’s always a chance that the casino will give you a good hand.

It all comes down to personal preference.
