A basket bet is a type of bet in roulette that allows players to place a wager on multiple numbers, or “bets,” at the same time. The player selects the number of bets they want to make, and the casino then spreads the bets across all of the number slots in roulette wheel.
The advantage to making a basket bet is that there is usually more potential payout options available than when placing individual bets. If a player slots a bet on number 1, 2, 3 and 4 and those numbers come up as winners, they would only receive their winnings from number 1.
However, if they had placed a basket bet on 1-4 with the casino, they would have received their winnings from numbers 1-4 and 9 too. .
There are also disadvantages to making a basket bet. If all of your bets are lost, you will lose everything you put into the basket – even if one of your individual bets ended up winning.
Additionally, if you are unlucky and all of your bets end up losing, you will still have to pay back the entire amount you put into the basket.
