What Is Early Surrender in Blackjack?

Early surrender is a term used in blackjack to refer to the act of giving up your hand before the dealer has given you an opportunity to surrender. This is usually done by placing your hand on the table before the dealer has had a chance to hit, in order to get a better chance of beating the dealer’s hand.

There are two main reasons why somebody might choose to early surrender: either they believe they have no chance of winning and want to end the game as quickly as possible, or they believe that their hand is so weak that it is not worth continuing to play.

While early surrender is usually seen as a disadvantage, it can also be beneficial if you are hoping to avoid getting dealt a bad hand. By giving up early, you may be able to avoid getting dealt any nasty cards, which could potentially result in you losing the entire game.

In general, early surrender is not recommended unless you are absolutely certain that you have no chance of winning. If you decide to give up early, make sure that you are fully aware of the risks involved and make sure that you are comfortable with those risks before making your decision.
