What Is Hole Cards in Blackjack?

Hole cards, also known as “kicker” cards, are cards that are not part of the standard 52-card deck. Hole cards are introduced into the deck by the dealer before any hands are played, and they are used to determine the rank of a card in a particular hand.

When a player is dealt a hole card, they must decide whether to put it into play or keep it hidden. If a player puts a hole card into play, it becomes wild and can be used to affect any other card that is played.

If a player keeps a hole card hidden, it becomes known as an “invisible” card and has no effect on the game.

The ranking of a hole card is determined by its position in the deck. The highest-ranking card in the deck is Ace, followed by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

When playing with two decks of cards, the ace is replaced by King.
