What Is the Roulette Roller Called?

The roulette wheel is a large, circular device that players use to place bets on the outcome of a spin of the wheel. The roulette wheel is typically made of wood or metal and is divided into 36 numbered squares.

Inside each square is a small piece of metal that is called a “ball.” When the roulette ball is dropped into one of the numbered slots, it causes a roulette wheel to rotate.

The ball can only be moved by the player’s fingers and it will stop at any one of the 36 slots on the roulette wheel. If the ball falls into one of the black slots, that player loses their bet and their marker moves down one space on the roulette table.

If the ball falls into one of the red slots, that player wins their bet and their marker moves up one space on the roulette table.
