Where Did Russian Roulette Originate?

Russian roulette is a game of chance where a person takes turns spinning a cylinder filled with six chambers, each containing a different number of bullets. If the player drAWS a bullet from the chamber with the number they’ve selected, they are then allowed to pull the trigger.

If the bullet is fired and it enters one of the other chambers, the player loses the round. If it goes through the center without hitting any other chamber, the player wins that round.

The game is believed to have originated in 1892 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, when French roulette player Charles Dunoyer decided to add a seventh chamber to create Russian roulette. The game quickly became popular in casinos all around Europe and America and today is played in many countries around the world including Canada, China, Mexico, and India.
