Casinos play blackjack with one deck because it is one of the simplest and most popular casino games. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible by taking cards that add up to 21. The dealer starts by dealing five cards face down, then looks at the top card of their deck and flips it over to reveal the value. They then offer that card to the player before flipping over their next card.
If that card is higher than the one previously revealed, the player can take it and add it to their current hand, otherwise they pass it on to the dealer. The dealer then flips over their last card, which becomes the new top card in their deck. Blackjack can be played either with a single hand or with two hands. When playing with two hands, each player receives five cards and must make a total of 21 before the other player loses.
