When playing blackjack, players can either hit or stand. If the player decides to hit, they must place a bet equal to the number of cards in their hand plus one. If the player decides to stand, they must place no bet. The dealer then deals out cards to each player, starting with the dealer and working clockwise around the table. The goal of blackjack is to achieve a higher total than the dealer.
When two players have an equal total, the player with the higher rank (face card first, Ace through Ten) wins. For example, if a player has a 2 and the dealer has a 10, the player loses. If both players have a 2, then the hand is a tie and no one wins. Blackjack is considered a draw if any player has an Ace through Ten. .
As with all casino games, there are variables that can affect whether or not a surrender option is available at a particular casino. For example, some casinos may only offer surrender on specific hands such as pairs or triples, while others may offer surrender on any hand that is not a tie.
Furthermore, some casinos may allow players to surrender at any time during their turn, while others may only allow players to surrender after they have been dealt their next card. In general, though, most casinos do offer some form of surrender option for blackjack players.
