How Is 4 Card Poker Played?

4 Card Poker is a popular variation of the poker game. In 4 Card Poker, the player receives four cards, instead of two.

The aim of the game is to make as many combinations of cards as possible, using either two of the same rank, two different ranks, or one higher and one lower rank. There are also several other variants of 4 Card Poker, such as Bonus Poker and Deuce-to-Seven Poker.

In 4 Card Poker, the player starts with three cards face down in front of them. They then draw one more card from the deck and place it face up on the table in front of them. The remaining two cards are placed face down in the player’s discard pile. The player then tries to make as many combinations as possible using their four cards.

For example, if they have a 3, 2, 5 and Ace, they could make combinations such as 3-2-5 or Ace-3-2-5. If they cannot make a combination, then they can either pass or hit (lay another bet).

In order to win in 4 Card Poker, a player must achieve at least two pair (i.e., three cards of the same rank), three different ranks or a high hand (a pair of Aces or better).

In order to win more quickly, some players will try to achieve a Royal Flush (a hand consisting of five Aces). However, achieving a Royal Flush is not always easy and is not guaranteed to win in 4 Card Poker.
