How Is Blackjack Scored?

Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games, and for good reason. It is a very simple game to play, and it is easy to learn. In blackjack, the player tries to beat the dealer by getting as close to 21 as possible without going over.

The player either picks cards from a shoe (the draw) or receives replacement cards (the deal). The goal is to make as few total bets as possible while still being in the black (having more cards than the dealer) at the end of the hand.

In order to score points in blackjack, a player must have an Ace high or better card, two through ten are counted as one point each, a Jack high or better card counts as two points, and a Ten high or better card counts as five points. If the player has any card that totals 16 or more (a Royal Flush), they automatically win the hand and receive 25 points regardless of what else is on their card.

If the player has any other number except a Royal Flush, they receive 0 points for that hand and the dealer receives 1 point for every point scored by the player. If the dealer has a Royal Flush, then they automatically win and both players lose.
