Russian roulette is a game of chance in which a player spins a cylinder containing six bullets. The player can win money by guessing which bullet will be next to come out.
There are 36 bullets in a Russian roulette cylinder. If you’re playing with someone who knows the game, they can tell you how many bullets are in the cylinder before spinning it.
Roulette players traditionally bet on numbers (1-36), colors (black, red, or green), or sums of money (even money, odd money, double or single). .
The odds of getting a specific number are 1 in 36. So if you bet on number 5, the odds are 3 to 2 that you’ll get it.
But if you bet on black, the odds are even (2/36) that you’ll get black and 2 to 1 that you’ll get another number. So, your chances of winning are about even if you only bet on one number.
If you’re playing with someone who doesn’t know the game, they can’t tell you how many bullets are in the cylinder before spinning it. They can only give you odds for what will happen when the bullets come out.
So if someone bets on black and the cylinder has five bullets in it when it’s spun, your chances of winning would be about 3 out of 36 (9%).
