Ada Blackjack was abandoned on the side of a road in California. She was found by a passerby and brought to a local animal shelter.
Ada was emaciated and had severe injuries to her face and body. She had multiple puncture wounds, indicating that she had been attacked by another animal.
The shelter staff did an extensive examination of Ada and determined that she was suffering from extreme neglect. They also determined that she probably belonged to someone who no longer wanted her, as she had no collar or identification.
Fortunately, someone who attended a dog training class recognized Ada as a blackjack dog, which is a breed of dog that is particularly skilled at card detection. After spreading the word about Ada’s plight, donations started pouring in and she was able to be transferred to a new home where she is receiving the care she needs.
