What Happened to World Series of Poker?

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is the world’s largest poker tournament by buy-ins and has been running for over 50 years. It takes place every year in Las Vegas, Nevada and is televised on the Fox network.

In 2006, the WSOP was sold to AIG and then in 2007 it was sold again, this time to a group led by billionaire businessman Phil Ivey. However, in January of this year, Ivey was arrested on charges of cheating at the WSOP.

As a result, the future of the WSOP is uncertain.

The WSOP has always been a controversial tournament due to allegations of cheating by some of its participants. In 2006, there was an online campaign called “Poker Is A Brain Game” which urged people not to watch the WSOP because of the cheating scandals that were being reported.

However, despite these scandals, the WSOP continued to be one of the most popular poker tournaments in the world.

However, with Ivey’s arrest and subsequent conviction, it is unclear whether or not the WSOP will continue to take place. If it does not take place, it would be the first time that a major poker tournament has been cancelled since 1978 when the World Series of Poker Main Event was cancelled due to player boycotts.
