What Is a Poker Table Look Like?

There are many different poker tables that can be found in any casino or gaming establishment. Some tables are small and intimate, while others are large and extravagant.

Regardless of the size, all poker tables consist of several basic components.

The table itself is typically rectangular, with a smooth, hard surface. The table’s surface may be covered in felt, cloth, or some other protective material.

There are usually several cup holders built into the table, as well as storage space for chips and other game pieces.

Above the table is a screen that displays the hands being played. This screen can also show other important game information, such as the current odds of winning or losing.

To either side of the screen are two railings that give players a good view of the hands being played without interfering with their movement.

At the far end of the table is a dealer button. This button allows one player to act as dealer for the round, and usually has a sign above it that indicates who is currently dealing. Opposite the dealer button is a stack of chips.

The dealer places these chips on the top of the stack, and then removes one chip at a time to create a poker hand. When all of the chips have been used up, the hand is over and play moves to the next player on the line.
