Who Gets Paid in Blackjack?

In blackjack, the house (the casino) always wins. Players only earn money if they are lucky enough to beat the dealer.

In most cases, players only win if they get a hand that is better than the dealer’s hand. However, in a few instances, players can also win if the dealer has a bad hand.

The house edge in blackjack is typically around 2.5 percent. That means for every 100 hands played, the house will make an average of $2.50.

In other words, for every $100 that a player bets, the casino will end up with $202.50 after all is said and done.

Players who are serious about winning in blackjack should bet only what they can afford to lose and avoid betting more than half of their bankroll on any one hand. In order to minimize losses, players should also try to stick to playing single decks of cards and limit their exposure to hands that are likely to give them high payouts (e.g.

, 10s, Aces).
